Tampa Bay Innovation Center Hosts Quarterly Diary of an Entrepreneur Program

Kyle Taylor of The Penny Hoarder will discuss how mission-based work drives The Penny Hoarder’s business model

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – (Jan. 9, 2018) – Tampa Bay Innovation Center, an innovation and entrepreneurship center for technology businesses, will hold its quarterly “Diary of an Entrepreneur” program on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at 8:30 a.m. at Microsoft Headquarter offices, 5426 Bay Center Dr., Suite 700, Tampa.

The February Diary of an Entrepreneur program, “Leading with Purpose: How Our Mission Drives Revenue at The Penny Hoarder,” will be presented by Kyle Taylor, founder & CEO of The Penny Hoarder. He will discuss how mission-based work drives The Penny Hoarder’s business model, giving a behind-the-scenes look at how the company makes decisions. He will also share failures, successes and lessons learned.

The Penny Hoarder is a personal finance website that reaches millions of readers each month. With a mission of putting more money in people’s pockets, The Penny Hoarder shares job opportunities, personal success stories, practical tips and more. Topics may include information on weekend side hustles, ways to shave dollars off the grocery budget, the differences between an IRA or 401(k) and many other subjects to help people make and save more money.

While managing massive student loans and debt in 2010, Taylor began to write about his adventures in making and saving money. Readers responded and this culminated in the launch of ThePennyHoarder.com. Under his leadership, The Penny Hoarder has grown from a personal blog to one of the largest publications on the web with millions of readers a month. The Penny Hoarder has pioneered a new kind of personal finance media with stories about real people and actionable money tips that make a true difference in readers’ budgets. Taylor is active in local politics after spending nearly six years on the road as a campaign worker crafting media strategy, directing field workers and raising millions of dollars for important causes. He feels passionately that people should earn a liveable wage no matter what their job. In 2017, the Inc. 5000 ranked The Penny Hoarder the 25th fastest-growing private company and the No. 1 fastest-growing private media company in the United States.
